This directory contains DABAX (DAtaBAse for X-ray applications) data 
files that can be optionally included in your XOP installation. To 
install some (or all) files, just copy them to your 
$XOP_HOME/data/dabax directory of your XOP installation. 

The data is accessed by using the Xop|Optics|Tables|DABAX main interface
application. 

The data files are in ASCII format.  The DABAX *.dat files are indexed to 
allow a faster access by XOP. The indices are stored in the files with 
the .HIdl extension which are created automatically by XOP when it first 
uses a particular data file.  However, this process is generally very 
slow and it's recommended that the corresponding .HIdl file is installed 
to speed up the retrieval of the data.

The BINARY HIdl files are different for UNIX and WINDOWS due to the fact
that the ASCII files were written in different formats. The corresponding
index files. If you modify the .dat file to customize to your needs,
then you must delete the corresponding .HIdl file. A new .HIdl file will
be created by XOP when callling by first time the file. You must have
write permission in the $XOP_HOME/data/dabax directory to be able to
modify DABAX files.
